Little Red Lighthouse

We had a lovely time visiting the Little Red Lighthouse (made popular by the children's book The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gry Bridge). The "hike" was the perfect length for little legs and the kids loved throwing things in the river. Near the river are picnic tables where we enjoyed a simple dinner; brie, bread, grapes, nuts. Afterwards we drove over to the Upper West Side for some cream puffs from Beard Papas. Next door was a gelato shop with a line out the door, so of course we had to get in line and see what all the fuss was about. I can't remember what it was called, but it was pretty good. Really rich flavors.

What a great family photo. I love the Petrea lump on the front of you.

Super that you're taking advantage of the area.

What a fun day! That's it, in my next life I want to come back as one of Josh and Erin's kids.

Tried the cream puffs just last week, and they were heaven! Didn't see the gelato shop, though. I'll have to try it. Thanks for the reminder of the lighthouse. We need to make it out there. Sounded like a great day!

The Gelato shop is named GROM and we have to stop now everytime we're in the City! My hair dresser told me about it a few months. He is from Sicily. The Pistachio is to die for and the pistachios are actually from a little town in sicily. They are a special variety so full of flavor. Such wonderful delicacies the City has to offer!
