First Day of School

Hooray! They're off and sooo excited. I love comparing this year's picture with last year. They look so grown up!

I'm very excited about our lunch system this year. The kids will be making their own lunches. I cleared a shelf at their level and stocked it with juice boxes, crackers, granola bars, pretzels, nuts, etc . . . Each morning they can choose a "snack", juice and piece of fruit/veggie from the fridge. I'll help them with sandwiches in the beginning (just because I don't want to deal with the mess), but soon they'll make their own. We also have a list on the bulletin board where they can write what things they'd like me to buy for their lunches (subject to approval, of course). This morning they liked being in charge and having freedom to pick things they like.

After school we'll go to the park with friends and eat peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. (I'll just add a cup or two of chocolate chips to the recipe).

Oooh, you know I am jealous that you have the bus. With a newborn, that is the best, huh? I can't wait to see your new baby. You have such beautiful kids!

Reminds me of the days when our street was full of kids walking to the bus. You just need a gorgeous Golden Retriever to complete the picture.
