may days

We walked the kids to school a few mornings ago. I love, love, love living 2 blocks from the school. In the morning, if we are outside we can hear the bell ring and the morning announcements. Included in the morning announcements? a daily joke. From our house, the voice on the loudspeaker sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher, but we ask Roxcy and Jonah when they come home to tell us the joke. During the day we can hear voices of the kids at recess; talking, screaming, laughing, playing.

Don't you just love those shoulders?

Colin still wants to wear his jacket every time we go outside. If I tell him it's really warm (85 degrees!), then he's even more sure he needs his jacket. I know I should just trust that he knows when he is hot or cold, but it drove me crazy, so I hid his jacket.

That's funny about Colin's jacket. Kate wears her jacket a lot too, good idea to hide it. And about Petrea.... love those shoulders, love those cheeks, love everything about her. She is so great! I especially love watching her dance when we sing, "doing a dance is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do...." in nursery. She is growing up.

I remember all the cool kids lived by the school so they could go home for lunch (in elementry) - do they let your kids do that?

Can't believe Colin on a big boy bike! Petrea is such a little person now. Can't wait to kiss those little shoulders!

I like living 1 1/2 blocks from our school, too. It gives me a reason to get out on walk. Jimmy and Ava love it, too. When are you coming up this way. We'd love to get together. Our little girls are getting so big!

Jacob still asks about once a week for a play-date with Colin ....

Maybe this fall!

I remember that each fall it was a struggle to get kids to wear jackets, even tho it was cold, and then again in the spring--they didn't want to give them up! Security I guess. Such cute children, such a lovely way of life!

Your mom is right--"a lovely way of life."

I'm glad little Petrea has someone like Daisy to love her in nursery.
