Smoked Pork

Josh got a smoker for his birthday (thanks mom and dad!) and loves smoking with it. So far we've had excellent smoked ribs, pulled pork, and homemade BBQ sauce. My parents also sent him this book: Smoke & Spice, which is the Bible of smoking. Lots of good recipes including beans, slaw and even strawberry shortcake (you don't smoke that one). Any of you that know my dad know that he is the king of smoking: beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, Thanksgiving turkey, fish. Recently he smoked enough beef brisket to feed the ward and then some. I like that Josh is smoking now, it make me homesick happy.

Here is my cute family enjoying ice cream after a yummy smoked meal.

I think before I can calim official residence here in Texas I need to know how to smoke. I'll be calling when I am ready to learn. Love the picture.

The last thing on your dad's truck as they left for New Mexico was the smoker! Those lucky missionaries. Glad you are carrying on the cooking traditions.

Gee... I was always told that smoking was bad for your health! ;)
