Petrea is now four months old. This is a great age; done with all that new baby nonsense like crying for no apparent reason, now her cries are purposeful and most of the time it's easy to tell what she wants. She's on a schedule now too, a milestone that is so liberating for me. It's not a perfect schedule and some days she does something entirely different, but it's becoming more and more consistent. She gives us lots of smiles all day, she's a calm and content baby, but still no laughs (seriously, what's up with that?). She's still not a great sleeper, she'll wake up after napping for just an hour, crying and still obviously tired, but despite my best efforts, won't go back to sleep. Not sure how to handle that one. She's absolutely adored by her brothers and sister who feel like it's a privilege to get her from her bed, change her diaper, hold her or play with her. She's been sick this past week with an awful cold and fever, that's why her cheeks are so rosy in the above pictures. (Am I a bad mom for loving when my kids are sick like this? She's so mellow and snuggly and warm I just get to hold her.) Oh, and she's soooo pretty. We tell her that a gazillion times a day.
