Happy Birthday Heather!

My sister, Heather just celebrated her birthday on 7-7-07 (born in '70!). How lucky is that? We had a fun BBQ - David made some amazing pizza on the grill and I got a chance to repeat the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake with Blackout Filling. Then we threw water balloons, of course. (Who doesn't want to have a water balloon fight on their birthday?)

Heather is such a great sister. She goes out of her way to help me all the time. Last year I started to miscarry and I was having a rough time, not sure what was really happening or knowing how to process it. Not 1 hour into it, Heather shows up and takes my 3 kids for the entire afternoon. She had them gathered up and out the door in like 2 minutes and my kids were pretty excited. They love their Aunt Heather and playing with their cousins. I'm not even sure how long it was, multiple hours at least, but I was so grateful I could just lay down and not worry about taking care of and feeding my kids. The amazing thing is, I could tell you 10+ stories just like that one where Heather has stepped in and helped me out so much. She just always seems to know what to do and how to help. Plus, she's so much fun to go the the movies or shopping or out to dinner with. Happy Birthday, Heather!

Erin, the cake was soooo good. Just what I needed, a triple dose of chocolate. I did notice John wasn't too happy with me the next day but oh well, mommy was. Thanks you great sister.

Happy 37th birthday Heather! You don't look a day over 25 - so unfair! :)

What great examples you are of the ideal sisters--so kind to each other, so supportive of each other's strengths, joyful in each other's successes, and helpful during the hard times. I'm grateful to you both and love you lots! What a fun happy day for lucky Heather--all those 7's!! But she only weighted 6 pounds at birth.

Man, I miss Heather. She is one of the most selfless people I have ever known. I also have numerous stories like that where she saved me-- and she's not even my sister.
