Thanksgiving

We had the best Thanksgiving. It was so much fun and beautiful and yummy. I loved how the meal turned out and despite a lack of planning on my part, the timing was perfect. The kids were patient during the meal. At one point I heard the oldest cousin say, "Let's go around the table and everyone tell the grossest thing they can think of." The soup was so good, the salad was a little strong and bitter for a Thanksgiving meal, but still good. Tania's sweet potatoes were amazing. The gravy wasn't so good, but everything else was divine. After dinner we all crashed in front of the tv and dozed and watched Elf. The dessert buffet was fabulous. We had a total of 9 desserts. I am so grateful to Donna and Roger who cooked and shopped with me for two days straight. They're never going to want to visit again. And Gabby who did all the tables and dishes, even serving dishes, and renting. It was pretty great. And Jordan who brought amazing desserts from the city, even though she had to carry them from police station to police station. And Liz and Jared who really made it all possible and brought yummy food too. (Liz's pumpkin cheesecake was the best I've ever had). This is sounding like an acceptance speech.

I didn't get many pictures of the day: 1. hors de oeuvres 2. the "adult" table 3. oscar enjoying a good ole cupa whipped cream. See Liz's blog for pics of the food. See Jordan's blog to see me on Martha.

I can't wait to see all the work you've done on your place. And what is it about Elf that makes it the perfect movie to watch the night of Thanksgiving? This is our second year in a row - and Daniel lives by Buddy's four food groups :)
