Foodie Gifts

Gift ideas for the foodie or person-who-spends-a-lot-of-time-in-the-kitchen in your life OR I would love these in my stocking!

Kitchen tape measure - $5.00 and up. Found here or at any hardware store. Look for one that is short (3 ft.), plastic and can easily be wiped off. I use mine so much when I bake.

Stainless Steel Spray Pump - $14.95
You put any kind of oil in this and then pump and spray. A nice alternative to Pam, which contains chemicals and can leave stains on your cookware. You can also use it to dress a salad, roast vegetables, spray on fish, etc . . .

Everday Mexican by Rick Bayless - $19.77
I love his other cookbooks, I love his PBS show, I would love this book.

Round Cutters - $24.95
Another great bakers tool. Comes in a set of 12. Just think of all times you would use these: doughnuts, cookies, dumplings, pastries, plating (wouldn't a little tower of mashed potatoes be so fun on a plate?), biscuits, rolls, etc . . . Endless uses.

Barefoot Contessa at Home - $21.00
Another chef I love, love. Her recipes are practical, interesting, easy, foolproof, impressive and always yummy. This is her newest cookbook.

Meyer Lemon Essential Oil Hand Lotion - $12.50
A friend once gave me Rosemary Lotion from Williams-Sonoma that I keep by the kitchen sink. I love it in the winter when hands get overly washed and dry. I like the idea of the lemon scent because it would get rid of garlic and onion smells. Others flavors include Wasabi Green Tea, Valencia Orange and French Lavendar. You can also buy matching dish soap and
candles.

It may be too late - but what are you going to serve Christmas morning? Matt and I are tired of all of our typical breakfasts and need something new.

What do you use a tape measure in the kitchen for? I can't recall ever having desired such a beast in the kitchen.
